Latest federal regs still aren’t enough aid for biz women

Under the SBA criteria, of the 6.5 million women-owned businesses, only 1,247 could potentially benefit from the program, according to the Center for Women’s Business Research. The rules could be enacted this year, opening federal contracts up at least a little bit. But it’s better to wait a little longer than put up with a measure that will be virtually ineffective. “It’s a federal law, that’s what matters. No data can dispute that,” said Lloyd Chapman, president of the American Small Business League.
